SOUTH PACIFIC WATER BUFFALO This outfitter is one of the most experienced Australian and International hunters in the country and his success rate on trophy buffalo speaks volumes about the quality of his company. Attaining 100% success on trophy buffalo rifle hunts and equally high success rate for bow hunters. Add to this plenty of return clientele and you have a guide that knows his business and runs an operation of the highest quality.
Hunting. Hunting is mainly done on foot using spot and stalk, although a vehicle is a necessity due to the vastness of the hunting area. Likely areas are glassed such as flood plains and billabongs until a trophy sized animal is spotted. You will then stalk in to range (Usually 40 to 80 yards) to take the shot. Recovery of the trophy and meat will then take place, and then it's back to base camp to celebrate your success.
Accommodation. Accommodation is in basic, clean air conditioned cabins with all amenities provided. All meals and beverages are provided from the time you leave Darwin Airport and up to your return at the conclusion of your hunt. Getting There. Unlike many operators, you will be met at Darwin International Airport, beware of outfitters who use air charters that can literally add thousands to your hunt! Although if time is a factor, air charter can be arranged. After clearing Customs you will be transported by vehicle from Darwin to the hunting area and returned at the conclusion of your hunt. Costs.
5-7 day hunt including trophy fee for 1 buffalo US $ 8,800.00
What To Bring. You will be hunting in the tropical north of Australia so light weight hunting clothing is advisable as well as the following items. Light weight comfortable hunting boots, binoculars, wide brim hat, sunscreen, torch (flashlight), daypack, camera or video camera and your personal items.
Seasons. Hunting can be done from April to September. The most comfortable time to hunt is during the dry seasons cooler months, June through to August. We would recommend these months for hunters from colder climates as the heat can become quite oppressive and may make for an uncomfortable hunt. During the cooler months the days are warm and pleasant, cooling down in the evenings.
Not Included In Cost. Accommodation prior to or after your hunt.
Insurance. Whilst all reasonable care will be taken during your stay, hunting is a potentially hazardous sport and your guide will not be held responsible for loss or injury that may occur. We strongly advise all our hunters and guests to arrange adequate insurance prior to leaving home. Summary. This is not just a hunt, but a total Australian bush hunting adventure, with one of the best in the business in an area that consistently produces the finest trophy buffalo Australia's top end wilderness has to offer.
