Hunting for Giant Moose Omolon River.

For hunters wishing to take the larges antlered animal in the world this is the hunt for you. The area where this hunt is conducted is extremely remote and fixed wing aircraft, helicopter and boats are used to transfer hunters and guides into this pristine wilderness. Moose up to the 70 inch mark are taken from this area.

Accommodation

Warm tents with wood stoves accommodates 2-3 hunters, there is also a kitchen, bath and dining tent in each camp. Hunters must bring your own sleeping bag to minus 20c.

Getting there

The area is located 1100 klm north east of the city of Magadan and the hunt is conducted on either the Omolon or Kegali River. Hunters would fly via Moscow to Magadan then take a charter flight to the Omolon Village the transport up river to the hunting area.

Seasons

Two hunts are conducted between September 10th and October 15th.

Up to 8 hunters per hunt.

Hunting Methods

Because this hunt is conducted during the rut many moose congregate along the river so hunting is done on foot after accessing the area by small boat. Each hunter has 1 guide and 1 boat so overnight spike camps can be utilised. There are also hunting dogs in camp if you wish to try this method of hunting. There are also snow sheep, brown bear and caribou in this area should you wish to hunt any of these animals.

: Hunting license, Acquiring invitation for hunters visa, acquiring rifle permits, meeting hunters and customs clearance in Moscow and Magadan, All transfers from Magadan and return including charter aircraft, guiding services, food and accommodation while hunting, trophy care and import and export permits.

Not included in Cost

Group transfer in Moscow (if required 300 euro), overnight hotels in Moscow and Magadan, airfares Moscow-Magadan-Moscow, CITES for bears (200 euro).
