HUNTING IN HUNGARY

Hungary has the largest population and finest trophy fallow deer in the World. They also have some of the largest free range Red deer stags available. Other species include Mouflon ram, huge Roe deer and European boar.
Enjoy the age old traditional hunting rituals and great hospitality showed by your guides and staff. You will hunt in some of the most picturesque country side and forests anywhere in the world.

Hunting.

Hunting methods vary greatly from Roe hunting in the open fields to traditional driven European boar hunts in the forests.
The best time to hunt Fallow and Red deer is during the rut which is September through to October.
Mouflon season begins on 1st September but the real challenge is stalking in the snow in November and December.
Wild boar can be hunted year round but the recommended hunting times is 1st November til 31st January. Hungary also has exceptional small game hunting available as well as great wing shooting opportunities.

Getting There.

Hunters will be met at Budapest International Airport and taken to the hunting lodge or guesthouse nearest to area of species that you wish to hunt.

Accommodation.

Accommodation varies as to which species and area that you are hunting. You may stay in hunting lodges or guesthouses but you will be very comfortable and will enjoy traditional Hungarian cuisine.

What To Bring.

Hunting seasons are mainly in autumn and winter so keeping this in mind you will need suitable cold climate clothing. Warm comfortable hunting boots and socks, binoculars, warm hat and gloves, torch (flashlight), wet weather clothing, wind proof hunting jacket, camera and or video camera and your personal items.

Insurance.

Whilst all reasonable care will be taken during your stay, hunting is a potentially hazardous pursuit and your guide will and his staff will not be held responsible for loss or injury that may occur. We strongly advise all our hunters to arrange adequate insurance prior to leaving your home.
