WILD BOAR HUNTS IN NORTH QUEENSLAND Australian Hunting Consultants is proud to offer exclusive wild boar hunts on half a million acres in the remote North Queensland Gulf country. This area contains literary thousands of wild boar as well as dingoes, salt and fresh water crocodiles and amazing bird life. This area is a privately owned working cattle station and borders on two major rivers, the Mitchell and the Alice Rivers. Hunting. The hunting method used, is spotting from a vehicle, then stalk in on foot when a trophy boar is spotted. The hunting area is mostly flat with lots of water holes, paper bark swamps and billabongs. Boars can be found feeding early morning and late afternoon. They can also be found near water through the middle of the day. Getting There. Due to the remoteness and vast distances, hunters will be flown in and out by light plane from Cairns International Airport. The light plane can accommodate 4 hunters and there gear. Accommodation. Accommodation is basic but clean, with a well equipped kitchen and bathroom. We stress that this is a working cattle station in a remote part of Australia so we cannot supply 4 star accommodation but we guarantee you will be comfortable and very well fed.
Costs. 4 days hunting 2 x 1 AUD$3000 per hunter (minium of 4 hunters).
Price Includes. 2 trophy boars per hunter. Additional trophy boars may be taken at AUD$300 per boar.
Not Included In Cost. Accommodation prior to and after your hunt.
Seasons. Hunting is done in the dry season and the best months are July and August when the water is drying up and therefore concentrating the game, also the vegetation is drying out which makes it easier to spot the game. Days may reach 30 Celsius, evenings are cool and pleasant. What To Bring. As you will be hunting in the tropical north of Australia, light weight hunting apparel is recommended, a wide brim sun hat and sun screen is essential. Light weight comfortable hunting boots, binoculars, torch (flash light), camera and or video camera and your personal items. Your guides have a selection of quality firearms for your use. Should you choose to bring your own firearm, three months prior notice is required to apply for your import permit. There is also a limit of 40 rounds of ammo that can be bought into Australia. Bow hunters are welcome.
Insurance. Whilst all reasonable care will be taken during your stay hunting is a potentially hazardous pursuit and your guide or his staff will not be held responsible for loss or injury that may occur. We strongly advise all our hunters to arrange adequate insurance prior to leaving your home. All our hunters will be supplied with our Terms and Conditions and Indemnity Forms prior to the hunt commencement. These forms will be required to be completed, signed and returned two months prior to your hunt. Summary. This hunt represents great value and the opportunity to hunt in the highest population density of wild boar in Australia. It's also a great outback experience in some of the most remote tropical wilderness area in the country. A truly memorable experience.
